This piece alone gives me an idea for a tale of two Nordic wanderers: Jungdyr and Vittur. They are roving wizards, like Saruman and Gandalf in their "younger" years. Many people guess they are brothers - close enough.
FYI as I feverishly scribbled notes about Jungdyr and Vittur I realized that they must be part of a larger world - in fact a whole academy of wizards....which led me to developing more about the school and its role...which led me to differentiating the actual, graduates of wizardry versus the flunk-outs that use their magic to con and swindle people...which led me to better defining magic's origins, role, perception, and awareness within the wider world. Long story short (literally) I owe you
3 1/2 hours? That's it? Geeze.. I feel like it would've taken me way longer! And for digital artists, that's a pretty short amount of time to spend on a piece, so I'm very impressed with the results! As everyone has already mentioned, the colors of this are absolutely beautiful. And the scenery is just as lovely! Great job in your tonal variations to show depth and in your mark-making to show texture! Well done.
I'm trying to get even faster! I joined a speed painting group on Facebook, and you get 30 minutes to paint something and you should see what people manage to do in such a short time... I'm nowhere near that level yet!
Haha, I know. It takes a lot of time and effort, but I think most of the really good ones are professional artists who get to spend all day honing their skills. I would do the same, were it not for this boring job that takes up most of my tiiime
